Road Trip!

Spencer and I had a great road trip. Spencer was super excited to see family after being gone two years. We stayed at grandma and pop's (donuts!), had lunch at CJ's (don't ever crowd in front of Brandon), went bowling, played pool and the Wii at Brandon and Nikki's, watched movies at Gay's, brushed up on our medical training, and got to be there when Nikki had her baby! It was awesome. Thanks to everyone.

We Can't Get Enough of Spencer!

Here are some pictures from the first Sunday Spencer was home. Even though we had an open house on Friday, a ton of people came over after church on Sunday too. The six guys with Spencer are all from his mission. A couple of the guys live pretty close, and the others are going to school at different colleges in Utah and Idaho. They all came to hear Spencer speak in church.

Too bad you can't see the TV to see how bad I'm killing Josh at Guitar Hero!

Sunday After Church

I'm not sure it will ever stop snowing. We've had our share, that's for sure. Good thing we have three big strong boys to shovel - I hate it when Kristi has to do all the shoveling!

Spencer is Home!

It's hard to believe, but Spencer is finally home! I think he was pretty nervous - he had that "deer in the headlights" look when he first came down the escalator. There were lots of people at the airport to welcome him with signs and balloons. Quite a few friends came over to the house later. We'll be having an open house tomorrow at 6 pm at our place. I'm guessing it will be a full house. Right now it's 12:30 in the morning and Spencer is downstairs playing ping pong with Nate and Josh and a few close friends. It's so good to have him home safe and sound. Here are a bunch of pictures from the airport. you can click on a picture to enlarge it.

Ping Pong Tournament

We had a ping pong tournament tonight. Double elimination, games to 13 points. Nate, the young whippersnapper won. There are a few videos below the pictures. To see the video, click on the video, then click on the little arrow at the bottom left of the video. The videos are a little dark because there's not a light down in the basement.

Kristi Loves Snow...Not!

There's not many things I like more than snapping pictures of Kristi when she's shoveling. We woke up this morning to 8 inches of snow and it's still falling. Supposed to be 3 inches more during the day. A snowblower is moving up my priority list real fast!

Family Update

So much has happened in the past little while. Spencer will be home next Thursday, January 24th. Kristi and I have both Thursday and Friday off work. I'm guessing Nate will skip school too. We're having an open house for Spence the day after he gets home for everyone to come by and welcome him home. He speaks at church the first Sunday after he's home. Here's the announcement we sent out.

We've been getting things ready for when Spence gets home. We've painted the bedroom, set up a second bed, washed what few clothes he left behind, etc. Let's hope he still fits into his old clothes! Spence and Nate will be sharing the room downstairs and Spencer has joked with Nate telling him he'll have to be up at 6 am each morning for companion study. I'm pretty sure that's not gonna fly with Nate. Here's a picture of Nate putting the brackets up for the mini blinds after we painted.

Most of you probably know that when Kristi
went in for her 4 month checkup with the cancer surgeon, Dr. Noyes removed a mole on Kristi's arm. I guess the doctor didn't like how the mole looked. Fortunately there was no melanoma, but the results did show atypical cells which is kind of like pre-cancer. If not removed the cells could turn into cancer. So the day after Christmas, Kristi had a good sized chunk cut out of her arm to get rid of the bad cells. Everything went well and the biopsy results of what was cut out showed clean margins, meaning they got everything.

Josh is doing well with his treatments. The treatments that lasted two hours every day are over. He is now in the second week of giving himself shots three times a week (Mon-Wed-Fri). The first night he really had to psyche himself up to give himself a shot, but he's handling it just fine now. He'll be doing the shots three times a week for eleven months.

It's way cold right now. The high during the day barely hits in the low twenties and the overnight low is about 7 degrees. The dogs have to come inside because it's so cold. I think Josh is spoiling Rocky dog too much!
